My Post Ultimate Reset Thoughts. It turned this Skeptic into a Believer!
I could say that my journey is done in that I have finished my 21st day on the Ultimate Reset, but that would be untrue. Sure, the structured part of the program is over but all the lessons I have learned will take this middle aged woman into the healthiest part of my life.
I have to admit that I actually didn’t think I needed to do this program. I considered the way I was eating, which isn’t too far off from the food on this plan, to be pretty clean and healthy. Regardless of this, I felt a responsibility to go through this so I could have first hand experience in an effort to support and help others. Well, let’s just say I was wrong!! I had pretty much been the same weight for over a year. Even though I exercised 6 days a week and ate clean, I just resigned myself to the fact that being over 50 with a lower metabolism was the reason that the scale was stagnant. Imagine my surprise when I dropped 11 pounds in 3 weeks!! Absolute shock and a realization that what I thought was good eating was apparently not good enough.
This process makes you more in tune to your body’s function and the relationship food has to your mood, energy, sleep, clarity and senses. My only regret is not doing this earlier in my life. I look back on the years when I was raising my boys, working as a oncology nurse and feeling so stressed, tired, irritable and feeling like I had no time for myself. I am convinced this process would have helped me to not only be a better Mom but would have made a huge impact on my own self esteem.
I was that woman who hated to shop for clothes and dreaded the fitting room mirror. I only got more depressed when nothing I liked fit and just emphasized the areas of my body that were getting flabby! When summer came along, I was challenged with finding a bathing suit that strategically covered me up. I know so many women that face the same issues. I want to shout from the roof tops to those that have some of these same experiences to try this Ultimate Reset. It will be life changing and such a positive thing for you and your family!
So the journey continues. I am grateful for all I have learned in the past few weeks. This knowledge and awareness will help to guide me in the choices I make for myself going forward. It doesn’t matter if you are young, middle aged, someone dealing with health issues already or even if you think you have got it all “figured out”. I invite you to try this. Give your body this gift for three weeks and see how it can change you!
And on a side note, Ed lost 17 pounds and is keeping it off! Going through the reset together was a great experience. Being able to help each other cook, shop and just support each other was so worthwhile. Our sons were pretty impressed!
What are you waiting for?
